Anganwadi’s were started by the Indian government in 1975 as part of the Integrated Child Development Services program to combat child hunger and malnutrition. Anganwadi today plays a key role in child development especially in rural India.
Udupi Nirmithi Kendra developed Anganwaadis in the years 2004 to 2009 in Udupi district, with well ventilated and properly lit buildings.
Starting with the construction of an Anganwadi in 2004 at Balkur of Coondapur Taluk, Udupi Nirmithi Kendra later built a series of Anganawadi through the years at places like Malpe, Mandarthi, Nitturu, Kemmannu and Havanje.
These Anganwadi interiors were artistically designed to arrest the mind of the child with bright colored cartoon images and basic learning tools like numbers and alphabets to enable a fun learn experience at the center.
